Reflection
As a chemistry class, we hoped to collaborate in this project to understand the benefits of working together and to create new memories during our last year of high school. For example, I was in charge of compiling the riddles for each chemical element from the students to use for the puzzle. We also hoped to engage younger students in an activity that would encourage them to think critically, be creative, and work together using the knowledge they've learned in their chemistry classes.
Unfortunately, after having planned the logistics, the rules of the activity, and the rest of the planning procedure, the project did not take place. This happened for a number of reasons: during the months following the planning, my class and I were overwhelmed by many deadlines which we had to complete, and thus we could not find a suitable date for the activity to take place. Also, the political and economic unrest in Lebanon created many complications logistically, including the fact that most roads were blocked (so we could not buy the supplies nor go to school). The protests prevented the whole school from attending classes for a while and slowed down the learning process. As a result, younger classes did not get the chance to learn the knowledge needed for the activity on time. This unforeseen barrier made it almost impossible for us to continue with this activity because of the uncertainty in the country and the participants who had not learned the knowledge needed in the activity yet as a result.
Overall, we were very disappointed by this occurrence since we took a long time to plan it. Nevertheless, we hope that the country will witness better days soon so classes may resume back to normal. Despite the challenges, the planning process of this project allowed me to understand the importance of teamwork and commitment. Regardless of the project not being successfully materialized, we worked together (even with disagreements) for many weeks and managed to come up with a plan even with the uncertainty in the country. That, alone, seems like an achievement to me.

Learning Outcomes Achieved:
LO4: Regardless of the obstacles we faced, we persevered and tried to organize the project as best as we could given the circumstances.
LO5: We would not have been able to get so much of the project done without the help of the entire Chemistry class.
